This Summer, an international delegation visited the West Bank. One of the delegation was Julia Kaiser, who is a member of the SDS student organisation in Leipzig. The delegation took part in demonstrations, visited local communities and experienced a situation of both hopelessness and continuing resistance.
The delegation was not just organised for a few individuals. Delegation members are now speaking at report-back meetings, where they can share their experiences. This is particularly important in Germany, where, like it or not, the discussion of Palestine is not the same as in other countries.
On Sunday, November 20th, Julia will be showing photographs and videos from the visit, explaining what she experienced, and discussing them with you. She will be joined by Fida’a Al-Zannin, who will talk about the situation in Gaza. This particular meeting is aimed at international activists and will be in English.
Following far right gains in the recent Israeli elections, there is a renewed discussion about how Palestine can finally be free. Who is a suitable partner for the international left, and who isn’t? How useful is it to talk about apartheid? In particular, what can we do concretely and how cam we influence the discussion in Germany?
The event will be taking place at Bilgisaray, Oranienstraße 45. and will be followed by a Küfa where international activists can eat and discuss politics together.
