     16:30 - 22:00

This fundraising screening event will explore the intersection of animal rights, human rights and the Palestinian liberation struggle. We’ll talk about the feasibility and importance of the animal rescue scene in Palestine and South Lebanon, progressive emancipation struggles under occupation, and the implications of Israel’s vegan-washing propaganda machine. We’ll also discuss agro-resistance (agriculture as resistance to the occupation)  and animal care as resistance forms, reclaiming Palestinian cuisine through a vegan and vegetarian lens, and examining how all oppressions are interconnected from an anticolonial and class perspective. Additionally, the event will highlight grassroots activism by the animal shelters on the ground, as well as emphasizing the need for recognizing animal rights in left spaces.

With the presence of photojournalist Craig (@craigredmondphotos) from Baladi Rooted Resistance, grassroot activist Fras (@frascfz) who will be joining live from Spain by video, and a recorded video from Ahlam Tarayra (@ahlamharoun), the founder of Baladi Palestine Animal Rescue and Vegan in Palestine.

Additionally, we’ll have a soli tattoo room with amazing artists, and we’ll be selling vegan cakes and drinks throughout the whole event. All the money raised will go to the animal rescue projects in Palestine and South Lebanon.
