This documentary examines the massacre that took place in the Palestinian village of Tantura in 1948, when Israeli forces stormed several villages during what later came to be known as the Nakba (Catastrophe).

Directed by Alon Schwarz, the film investigates the circumstances surrounding Tantura’s surrender to Israel’s Haganah, and particularly the role of the Alexandroni Brigade.

Through the testimony of former soldiers and perpetrators, the documentary offers a rare and timely reckoning with a contested historical trauma —one that many view as part of an ongoing cycle of violence, closely tied to present-day devastation in other parts of Palestine, most urgently in Gaza.

The film serves as a catalyst for reflecting on historical analogies and probing the deeper roots of violence in the region.
