In light of intensifying problems and deepening crises in Indonesia, including exploitation of natural resources and its environmental harm through the National Strategic Project (PSN), pressing issues such as corruption and food poisoning surrounding free nutritious meal program (MBG), and the growing suppression of freedom of speech and expression and oppression of minority groups such as Indigenous peoples and the LGBTQIA+ community, we cannot remain silent. In the face of injustice and repression, resistance is necessary.
We therefore call on you in solidarity to join Aksi Kamisan, a weekly silent protest inspired by the long-standing Thursday Action (Aksi Kamisan) held in Jakarta, Indonesia. For years, activists in Jakarta have gathered every Thursday to demand truth, justice, and accountability for past and ongoing human rights abuses. Now, we bring this to Berlin to amplify these voices and stand in solidarity with those fighting for a better Indonesia and a better world.
