On August 26, 2026 organizations and allies of the Friends of the Filipino People in Struggle (FFPS) held a Global Day of Action to support the National Democratic Revolution in the Philippines and fight with the Filipino people against US-Led War and Plunder. Member organizations from different parts of the world are calling for the shutdown of Pax Silica, the end of local state participation in militarism in the Philippines, and to uplift the just national liberation struggle of the Filipino people.
“The US continues to wreak havoc all over the globe and is consolidating its forces and weapons in its neo-colonies like the Philippines via unequal treaties like the EDCA, VFA. It is now trying to make the Filipino people swallow Pax Silica and all the strings attached to it that benefit only the US. However, the Filipino people and all the national democratic forces in the nation, continue to wage a just war for sovereignty and genuine social liberation. It is timely for all friends of the Filipino people in struggle to show their support, step up and take action,” Robert Reid, FFPS Global Chairperson said.
Solidarity activists around the world are organizing a variety of actions to oppose US-led war and plunder in the Philippines. Actions include educational discussions, webinars, watch parties, film screenings, flyering, postering, wheat pasting, graffiti, art, zines, social media releases, and other creative actions.
Simon from POPS (People Organizing for Philippine Solidarity) joined others across the US on August 26 to uplift the Filipino revolutionary struggle. He shared how essential it is to build solidarity for the Filipino people under the worsening violations of International Humanitarian Law occurring in the country. Most notably these include the April 2026 massacre of 19 people in Toboso, Negros Occidental, as part of the US-directed counterinsurgency strategy, re-branded last year as the “National Action Plan for Unity, Peace, and Development” (NAP-UPD).
Simon also highlighted the FFPS’ Political Prisoners campaign that many organizations have taken up this year This campaign, exposes increasing IHL violations in the form of arbitrary arrest and detention, especially of NDFP Peace Consultants who remain fighting for peace from behind bars. It uplifts the revolutionary forces represented by the NDFP who defend the Filipino people against these attacks, and who remain a major obstacle to the US-Marcos regime’s schemes to sell out the Philippines to the imperialists.
