In The Left Berlin Film Club, we will be showing you the short film The Blood Never Dries, followed by a discussion with director Olfa Lamloum.

In Tunisia, the Battle of Bizerte, which took place in July 1961, has been forgotten in favor of the Evacuation Day celebrations commemorating 15 October 1963.  Hence, the narrative of France’s withdrawal from the Strategic Military Base has overshadowed the colonial massacre that it committed. The Blood Never Dries recounts this period of our history. Through two eyewitnesses now fighting for recognition of this unpunished crime,  this documentary investigates its scenes and traces. The film also digs into the archives to shed light on the crime’s implications.

Film club is a new monthly Event organised by The Left Berlin in the Agit buildings, Nansenstraße 2.
