Jin Haritaworn

Jin Haritaworn (they/them) is Associate Professor at York University in Canada. They wrote the first book on homonationalism in Germany, Queer Lovers and Hateful Others: Regenerating Violent Times and Places (Pluto, 2015). The book was based on a kitchen table ethnography with queer of colour community in Berlin, of which they remain part. Their new project is on BIPOC kids’ advocacy and empowerment and queer dreaming and abolition in times of authoritarian reconstruction and raison d’etat. Jin wrote numerous articles and several books, including the seminal anthology Queer Necropolitics (Routledge, 2014, with Adi Kuntsman and Silvia Posocco), as well as Queering Urban Justice and Marvellous Grounds, two co-edited book collections grounded in QTBIPOC Toronto (University of Toronto Press, Between the Lines, both in 2018).
